Qatar has firmly dismissed accusations made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who claimed that the Gulf nation is orchestrating a campaign to sway global public opinion against Israel. The allegations surfaced during Netanyahu’s address to the United Nations General Assembly, prompting a swift response from Qatar.
Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, characterized Netanyahu’s claims as an attempt to shift the focus away from Israel’s own policies and actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, which have significant humanitarian implications. Al Ansari insisted that global public opinion is being influenced by the events that people witness directly, rather than by any campaign allegedly led by Qatar.
In his statement, Al Ansari urged Israel to reconsider its policies, adhere to international law, and take accountability for its actions and their consequences. He emphasized that pointing fingers at Qatar or other countries is not a solution to the criticism Israel faces internationally.
